bluegill.
Since bluegill spawn in the spring and early summer that is the best time to catch them. As the water temperature rises they tend to head to shallow water until summer arrives so keep this in mind. Fishing early in the morning or evening for bluegill will give you the best chance for success as well. As the summer heat arrives you will also need to fish deeper to find bluegills as they head too much deeper depths. Small soft-plastic jigs that are lightweight seem to work well will bluegills. Minnows also at times have been shown to be very effective as well. One thing with a bluegill is they change what they like all the time. What may work one day will not work the next, so always keep this in mind.
