One popular type of bait is the Marabou jig. Marabou jigs have a furry type body and a tail made of a fluffy feather. When this jig goes in the water, the feather on the tail changes and shrinks, creating an underwater action that crappie find extremely intoxicating. These jigs are very effective to use as bait for crappie fishing.
Twister tail jigs are yet another popular crappie bait. They are rigged onto a small jig head and have excellent action underwater. Gulp twister tails as well as Berkley’s Power are much more effective as they are infused with scents to attract fish.
Undoubtedly, the most used and most effective bait for crappie fishing are live minnows. Actually, you will probably find no other bait quite as good as live minnows. To make an extremely deadly combination bait, try tipping jigs with live minnows. If you are going to be fishing with live minnows by themselves, the best way to jig them is a set of #8 or #10 gang hooks that are pre-tied. By using gang hooks, you will be certain to keep your live minnows alive.
Fishing for crappie can be extremely fun, not to mention rewardingly tasting afterwards. If you want to catch lots of crappie, use a variety of baits in your fishing repertoire.

I would like to say I did it myself but I had help — hopefully I’ll be able to do it myself in the future.
